Treatment between the age of 6 and 10 is usually performed to correct some bite or teeth positioning issues, which may worsen in the short term and potentially harm or interfere with the symmetry of growth. Such treatment is designed to address problems with the alignment of the teeth and jaws while the patient is in the earlier stages of growth. The goal is to help and guide the development in a way that promotes proper alignment and function and to prevent more severe problems from developing later. It is usually shorter than comprehensive orthodontic treatment and only aims to fix that one major problem. This means that you could need further orthodontic treatment later. We will assess the issue and advise if early treatment is recommended or if it can be integrated with the regular orthodontic treatment later.
